Road Legal Quad: the T3B Adult Range, from Petrol to Electric
Browse our range of road legal quads, compliant with the European T3B standard and driveable with a category B licence. From the budget-friendly electric model to the 300cc petrol 4x4, every quad in this range is registrable, insurable, and ready for both road and off-road use. Whether you're after a road legal quad for adults for daily commuting, leisure rides, or agricultural work, our range covers every power level and budget.
Which road legal quad suits your needs?
The right choice depends on your budget, the power you're after, and your intended use:
- Electric entry-level: the Replay 1500W 60V, lightweight, cheap to run, and engine-maintenance-free.
- 150-300cc versatility: Kayo AU200, Tricia 300cc Platin, or Dustrider 1.5kW for mixed road/trail use with tow hitch and storage racks.
- Premium off-road models: SPY Racing E8/E9 or Hytrack HY550X 4x4, for the most demanding uses (mountain terrain, agriculture, professional work).
Every model in our range ships with the European certificate of conformity required for registration. A category B driving licence is required for nearly the entire T3B range.
Road legal quad: petrol or electric?
An electric road legal quad like the Replay offers very low running costs (no fuel, minimal maintenance) and is ideal for short to medium distances. A 150-300cc petrol quad (EFI fuel injection) delivers greater range and more versatility for intensive off-road use or towing.
Safety and registration
All our road legal quads require third-party liability insurance and official registration before use on public roads. Wearing suitable protective gear is strongly recommended. For models intended for off-road use only (not road legal), browse our leisure adult ATV category.

Road legal quad: understanding the T3B standard
The T3B category, under European Regulation 168/2013, covers heavy motorised quadricycles designed primarily for off-road use but authorised for public road use once registered. Unlike standard leisure quads, a T3B road legal quad features complete lighting (headlight, indicators, brake light), a horn, mirrors, and an engraved serial number compliant with European standards — all elements checked during registration.
Licence required for a road legal quad
For nearly our entire T3B range (150cc and above, as well as equivalent electric models), a category B driving licence is required to ride on public roads across the EU and UK. Always check the regulations in force in your country, as exceptions may apply depending on power output and licence issue date.
How to register your road legal quad
Registration is completed at your local registration authority using the European certificate of conformity supplied with the vehicle. You'll also need proof of third-party liability insurance. Once registration is granted, a quad-format number plate must be fitted to the vehicle.
Electric vs petrol quad: running costs compared
An electric road legal quad like the Replay 1500W has significantly lower running costs per kilometre than a petrol model: no fuel, maintenance limited to the drive chain and brakes, and charging from a standard domestic outlet. A 300cc petrol quad, by contrast, offers greater range over long distances and better towing capacity for agricultural or intensive professional use.
