Front and rear disc brakes for total control, even at full speed

Both wheels are fitted with disc brakes: short stopping distances, precise modulation and reliable deceleration even under emergency braking. The ergonomic levers are sized for children's hands, so young riders learn progressive braking from the very start. XtremRS tip: check pad wear and brake fluid regularly – and never ride without an approved full-face helmet (see our helmets category).

Stainless steel sports exhaust – racing sound, sharper response

The stainless steel sports exhaust optimises gas flow from the two-stroke engine: more torque at low revs and noticeably more responsive acceleration. Its compact, low-mounted design lowers the centre of gravity and improves cornering stability. Maintenance note: as with any two-stroke pocket bike, clean the exhaust roughly every 5 tank fills to prevent carbon build-up and preserve performance.

Reinforced steel frame of the 49cc pocket bike

Reinforced steel frame – stable through every session

The high-strength tubular steel frame takes intensive sessions in its stride, on smooth asphalt or rough track. The 730 mm wheelbase delivers steady straight-line tracking and predictable cornering, while precise welds and targeted reinforcements eliminate flex. At just 19 kg, the bike stays extremely manageable for a child – with up to 60 kg load capacity. The frame is compatible with most racing spare parts on the market, so future upgrades are straightforward.

Easy aluminium pull starter – fire it up in one pull

The aluminium pull starter gets the engine running with a single firm pull – manageable even for small hands. The anti-kickback mechanism prevents snatching, and the ergonomic handle reduces the effort required. The system is rated for over 10,000 start cycles. Tip: lubricate the starter cord with silicone grease every 3 months (avoid standard oils, which attract dust) and pull through briskly to avoid flooding the engine.

Chain drive with CVT automatic transmission of the 49cc pocket bike

CVT automatic and chain drive – just ride, no gears

No gearbox to manage: the continuously variable transmission (CVT) automatically matches power delivery to speed, for smooth, linear acceleration – the child stays focused on riding. The reinforced chain with adjustable tensioner and hardened steel sprockets are built for long days on track. Care tip: clean and grease the chain after every outing with a dedicated motorcycle chain product (avoid WD-40, too thin).

Magnetic kill switch, safety lanyard and 3-stage limiter – peace of mind for parents

The Tribo CR PRM features two safety systems mandatory in competition: a magnetic kill switch on the handlebar that instantly cuts the engine in case of a fall or loss of control, and an emergency lanyard attached to the rider's wrist – ideal for beginners and supervised sessions. Add the 3-stage adjustable throttle limiter: stage 1 for first laps at reduced power, stage 3 for full power (40 km/h). An approved full-face helmet, gloves and protective gear are essential – see our helmets category.

1. What is a 49cc pocket bike and what is it for?
A pocket bike is a mini racing motorcycle for closed circuits, kart tracks and private land. The Tribo CR PRM runs an air-cooled 49cc two-stroke engine with CVT automatic transmission and reaches around 40 km/h (25 mph). It is strictly for off-road use, away from public roads.
2. From what age is this pocket bike suitable?
From around age 6, under adult supervision: 45 cm seat height, 60 kg maximum load. The 3-stage throttle limiter restricts power for beginners (stage 1) and releases it as experience grows (stage 3: full power, 40 km/h).
3. How fast is this pocket bike and how powerful is the engine?
The 49cc two-stroke produces 1.8 kW (about 2.4 hp) and takes this 19 kg pocket bike up to 40 km/h (25 mph). The sports exhaust and CVT transmission deliver responsive, linear acceleration with no gear changes.
4. How much does a petrol pocket bike cost?
Entry-level petrol pocket bikes start at a few hundred euros. The Tribo CR PRM is priced at [PRIX] € – including a full pre-dispatch check (assembly, oil, brakes, tyre pressure) by XtremRS.
5. What fuel/oil mixture does the engine need?
A 4% two-stroke mixture: 40 ml of fully synthetic two-stroke oil per litre of 95 or 98 octane unleaded. Using the wrong mixture can damage the engine and void the warranty.
6. Is this pocket bike road legal?
No. Like all pocket bikes in this class, the Tribo CR PRM is not approved for public roads: it may only be used on private land, kart tracks and suitable circuits.
7. How do I start this pocket bike?
Open the fuel tap, set the choke if the engine is cold, then pull the aluminium starter cord firmly. The magnetic kill switch on the handlebar stops the engine instantly if needed. Tip: pull through briskly to avoid flooding the engine.
8. How do I maintain this pocket bike to make it last?
After every ride: clean and grease the chain, check tyre pressure. Every 5 tank fills: check the spark plug and air filter. If stored for more than 30 days: drain the tank or add a fuel stabiliser.
